SINCE 1970, KEPNER’S PRECISION AUTO KRAFTERS HAS BEEN REPAIRING CARS RIGHT FOR CUSTOMERS ALL OVER SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN!
Rich Kepner started welding and painting at age 14 after he crashed the family truck. By age 18, he was working full time in a body shop. After just a few years, in 1969 he was ready to start his own shop, intending to work primarily on Corvettes. But by that time, Rich had quite a following- his first winter on his own, more and more customers brought their cars in for collision repair. “They just kept towing them in, and I couldn’t turn them away!”
Over the years, the shop on Nickerson grew to add a major new repair facility & office, as well as several additions. Rich invested in technology & tools to provide better repairs and maintain the highest quality. They were the first area shop to have downdraft booths, to help control paint fumes and be kinder to the environment, as well as turning out a better quality finish. Kepners has grown to be the premium shop in the area, and has repaired many thousands of cars, always with the highest standards of fit, finish and quality.
Although Rich is now with the Lord, the Kepner family continue to operate on Rich’s principles- repair it right, finish it well, and always please the customer with expert paint and body work. His influence on the business continues to guide employees to this day. Rich’s wife Connie runs the business office, with son Ryan Kepner and son-in-law Jesse Holmes assisting with estimates and managing the shop. Many employees have been part of the Kepners family for over 35 years
